Located on the west coast of Ireland, Clare is northwest of the River Shannon.
The most populated town and county seat is Ennis.
Other major towns are Killaloe, Kilrush and Kilkee

Brian Boru was the most noted High King of Ireland and had his palace at Killaloe.
